Sécurité Routière launches a campaign to encourage safe driving
As of this Monday, May 11, 2020, the first day of de-confinement, users of all kinds, cars but also bikes, scooters or motorcycles, ... will be able to take to the road again. In a new campaign signed by the Babel + Madame Bovary + Serviceplan agency consortium, the French road safety authority is inviting French road users to continue the cautious and supportive behavior they have so successfully adopted over the past two months.
From Monday May 11, road users will have to relearn how to share the road, rediscover their reflexes and, for some, discover a new mode of locomotion. At the wheel, they will have to detach themselves from their cell phones, which have become essential over the past two months. The joy of reunion must not make you forget speed limits, vigilance and sobriety... To remind the general public of the imperative need to respect traffic rules, the Babel + Madame Bovary + Serviceplan agency group has designed and produced a campaign that will be deployed on television ("Ensemble" 30'' film), digital ("Vitesse de déconfinement" 30'' film) and radio ("Vitesse de déconfinement" 30'' spot), three media with a common message: during the lockdown, your compliance with instructions saved lives; keep on the road.
Indeed, together, the French have just shown that responsible driving can save lives, that respecting the rules can avoid the worst, that respecting safe distances means respecting others, and that being cautious is always useful. So it's only natural that this new campaign should encourage the French to continue applying on the road everything they've managed to do at home.
Finally, to help road users get back on the road in complete safety, Sécurité Routière has issued a series of posters (on bicycles, scooters, motorized two-wheelers, etc.) reminding them of the golden rules to observe, as well as the mandatory and recommended safety equipment for the most vulnerable road users. The posters are available from prefectures, local authorities and companies.
