Amis des Aveugles - Vrienden der Blinden

How do you create a visual identity for people who may never see it? And make it work across multiple services and audiences? That was the challenge facing “Amis des Aveugles / Vrienden der Blinden”, a Belgian non-profit supporting visually impaired people.

Inspired by the simplicity of Braille, Serviceplan created a modular visual system that could unify every service and touchpoint under one recognisable brand. Watch the case now.

  • Rebranding Amis des Aveugles / Vrienden der Blinden.
  • Uniting multiple services and activities under one coherent brand.

  • Creating an identity for diverse audiences, from visually impaired people and their families to staff, donors and partners.

  • We built the identity around two defining elements of the association: Braille and human connection.
  • Inspired by dots and circles, we created a modular visual system that can adapt across services, audiences and channels while remaining instantly recognizable.

  • The circles symbolize the connection between visually impaired people and everyone who supports them, creating a simple language that can tell many different stories under one unified brand.

  • Creation of a new strong visual identity.

  • Versatile and capable of unifying all services.

  • Flexible system based on circles and dots capable of expressing many stories, formats and touchpoints without losing consistency.

  • Comprehensive brand guidelines for print, digital / UX and social media applications.

  • Our branding proposal was initially developed as part of a competitive pitch, which Serviceplan ultimately won.

  • The identity went on to win a Silver PHNX Award and a Silver Epica Award, both in the Best Brand Identity category.
