Martina Laruffa is an Italian artist and filmmaker whose artistic practice spans analog film, installations, drawing, and painting. In her work, storytelling is a visual exploration of language, understood as a physical material to be shaped and layered.
By focusing on the conceptual and narrative value of objects and props, she explores themes such as perspective, subjectivity, deception, and states of perception. Between reality and imagination, she seeks out existing narratives, creating playful connections between elements drawn from science, philosophy, history, folklore, spiritual wisdom, and literature.
Martina Laruffa graduated from the Department of Moving Image at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (Netherlands) in 2023. In 2026, she earned a Master’s degree in Film from the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola (Spain). Her works have been presented at various international venues, including the Drawing Centre Dippenheim (Netherlands), the Santiago Multimedia Arts Biennial (Chile), and Silent Green (Germany).
