Every minute counts

Challenges

Despite over 18,000 cases in 2024 alone, Germany lacked a nationwide alert system for missing. Government solutions failed due to data protection regulations and federal structures. The challenge: to develop a fast-acting, local alert system – with no budget, but maximum impact.

A network that can save children's lives

solutions

With Screen2Save, we developed an innovative, automated media network based on geo-targeting. It distributes missing child alerts in real time across multiple platforms to support search efforts. Alerts appear on Free2move vehicle screens, supermarket displays, and social media – precisely in the area where the child was last seen. This multi-partner alert network operates without traditional paid media.

Additionally, social media, influencer engagement, and PR activities were used to raise awareness of each case. Starting January 2025, the system was fully integrated into the Free2move fleet, enabling the entire process – from police approval to media broadcast – to run automatically and in real time.

A dedicated online reporting form was also launched and promoted via social media and influencers to make submitting alerts even faster and easier. In March, the nationwide communications campaign began, utilizing all available channels: DOOH (Digital Out of Home), CTV (such as Netflix and Disney+), television, print, podcasts, and retail media. During the scale and retail phase, all media placements were provided free of charge by partners, including high-profile in-store locations to ensure maximum visibility.
