Managing Partnerin

Esther Busch is Managing Partner at Mediaplus Cologne, Board Member of the Mediaplus Group, and CEO of the House of Communication Cologne. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic development of the location, the conception of integrated agency offerings, and the company's growth. With over 230 employees from the agencies Plan.net, Serviceplan, Mediaplus, MediaScale, and TACSY, she has created a unique structure built on a shared mindset: One Team, One Culture, One Step Ahead, One Direction.

Her professional journey began with an internship and a role as a radio presenter at Antenne Niedersachsen. In 1995, she helped build the first private radio station in Bremen. Leadership positions at AWE Marketing, AS&S Radio in Frankfurt am Main, and as Managing Director Marketing and Sales at Ströer Media Deutschland followed. These stations shaped her profile as an entrepreneur, strategist, and leader. A particular passion has accompanied her from the very beginning: moderation – a competency that defines her leadership style to this day and distinguishes her as a speaker, panel moderator, and coach.

Innovation Driver

Esther Busch is one of the voices in the industry who treats technology not as hype, but as a strategic lever. Her conviction: AI has long ceased to be a future vision – what matters is not the whether, but the how. To this end, Esther consistently connects new technologies with business value: What does it bring to the customer, and how do we orchestrate human and machine so that strategic clarity emerges from growing complexity? Esther does not talk about innovation in theory – she designs and integrates it in day-to-day business and shares openly what works and where people remain indispensable. A perspective that is particularly valuable when it comes to the concrete use of AI in marketing and communication.

Entrepreneurial Thinking & Leadership

Esther Busch speaks about entrepreneurial thinking not from a textbook, but from her own experience. She has implemented many growth strategies and built resilient structures. This expertise makes her tangible: How do you stay on track when an approach needs time? How do you develop an attitude from setbacks rather than just a lesson? For her, entrepreneurial thinking begins with courage – the courage to question habits, to reframe failures, and to keep options open. This attitude she also extends: as a coach, she accompanies colleagues, team members, and client-side contacts in their personal leadership development – with an expertise based on genuine trust. Her impulses are directed at all those who bear responsibility and want to know how to remain capable of action in a dynamic environment – without losing themselves in the process.

Corporate Strategy

Esther Busch thinks of an agency not as a service provider, but as a business partner at eye level. Under her leadership, the House of Communication Cologne has developed a model that offers clients genuine end-to-end solutions – structured, integrated, and aligned with individual business goals. She uses the image of an orchestra for this: every discipline masters its instrument, but it is only in the interplay that composition emerges, and then becomes more than the sum of its parts. In an industry under permanent pressure of change, she takes a clear stance: orientation emerges not from constant reaction, but through strategic clarity, the courage to question routines, and the ability to place focus over activism. Esther speaks about change management not abstractly, but as someone who has actively shaped transformation processes in her own company. Her perspective is particularly relevant for decision-makers who want to understand how to make complexity manageable and think alongside clients in a business-minded way.

Moderation

Moderation is for Esther Busch more than a discipline – it is a passion that has accompanied her since the beginning of her career. She already learned as a radio presenter at Antenne Niedersachsen how to lead conversations, bring topics to the point, and give people a stage. This competency runs through all her professional stations – from media companies to above-the-line marketing to the agency world – and shapes her leadership style to this day. As a moderator, she combines deep industry knowledge with genuine interest in the perspectives of her conversation partners. She creates spaces in which not positions but perspectives count – with curiosity, structure, and the ability to make even complex topics accessible. Esther Busch is available as a moderator for events from the fields of media, marketing, and communication – for panels, keynote formats, and strategic discussion rounds.
