Overview

Urban Hitters Collective is an owned platform that connects a new generation discovering golf with people who already play and love the game. Through cultural driven tournaments, podcasts, editorial and visual storytelling, as well as community formats such as Deep Drive, HTRS OFF COURSE with Golf-Pro Marcel Siem and #9BFR9, it creates new ways to experience golf without rejecting its traditions. At its core, the platform uses golf to bring people together—connecting them through shared interests, conversations and experiences that reach far beyond the sport itself.

Challenge

A more open way into golf.

Golf does not necessarily have an age problem. It has an access problem. Many younger people are already interested in the game, its competitive nature, its visual culture and the opportunity to spend time outdoors with others. But the way golf is presented and organized can still make the sport feel difficult to enter. Traditional club structures, unfamiliar rules, financial assumptions and established social codes often create the impression that golf was designed for somebody else.

At the same time, making golf look younger is not the same as making it more accessible. Adding streetwear, music or younger faces may change the image of the sport, but it does not automatically give people a place to start, someone to play with or a reason to feel that they belong. Genuine access begins when curiosity can turn into participation—and when participation leads to relationships.

The challenge for Urban Hitters Collective was therefore to create a more open way into golf without rejecting the people who already play or dismissing the traditions that make the game compelling. The platform needed to connect a new generation of golfers with established players through shared experiences, honest conversations and common interests.

Golf provides the starting point, but the connection can go much further. Music, fashion, business, personal development and urban culture create additional reasons for people with different backgrounds to meet. Urban Hitters Collective was created as a golf community that brings these perspectives together—making the game easier to enter, more relevant to contemporary life and more capable of connecting people beyond the course.

Solution

One platform for many different kinds of golf.

Urban Hitters Collective was developed as an independent golf community platform built around a simple belief: there is no single version of golf. The game can be professional sport, a personal challenge, a social ritual, a weekend escape, a business environment, a fashion culture or simply a reason for people to spend time together. Instead of promoting one new definition of golf, the platform explores the many different "golfs" that already exist—and creates connections between people who might otherwise never meet.

This also means bringing together different levels of experience. Urban Hitters Collective is not only aimed at newcomers or people who have previously felt excluded from the game. It also involves established golfers and credible voices from within the sport. With professional golfer Marcel Siem as part of HTRS OFF COURSE, the platform includes someone who has experienced golf at the highest competitive level. Together with Cultural Marketing expert Niko Backspin, he explores the people, interests and experiences that exist beyond scores, rankings and tournament results—without losing sight of the game itself.

Each format offers a different way into this wider golf culture. Deep Drive uses a round of golf as the setting for long-form conversations about careers, identity, ambition, failure and change. HTRS OFF COURSE follows golfers beyond the course and explores the music, fashion, work and personal stories that shape their relationship with the game. #9BFR9 turns an early-morning nine-hole round into an accessible and recurring community ritual before the working day begins.

Community rounds, events and alternative routes into the Platzreife translate this editorial idea into real participation. People can enter the platform by listening, reading, meeting others, learning the game or playing at their own level. Together, these formats connect newcomers, recreational golfers, cultural voices and professional players within one community.

Urban Hitters Collective therefore does not try to replace traditional golf with a supposedly younger version. It makes the diversity that already exists within the game more visible—and creates a platform where different generations, backgrounds and interpretations of golf can meet. Brand partners can contribute to these experiences in a useful and credible way without taking ownership of the community.

„There is no such thing as ‚the‘ one golf. For some, competition is the focus; for others, the shared round, fashion, or conversation between tee boxes. Urban Hitters Collective brings these perspectives together through podcasts, tournaments, and community formats, building a Cultural Home of Golf where no single version of the game sets the norm, but everyone feels welcome.“
